Something special is cooking at Smelt Breda from 28 August to 4 October. De Mosselpan will be taking over the restaurant for a limited time, serving fresh mussels from Zeeland in four delicious styles.

For De Mosselpan, we travelled to Zeeland ourselves. We stepped aboard a mussel boat, met the people behind the mussels and learned what truly defines exceptional quality.
Our mussels are full of flavour, beautifully plump and carefully selected before making their way to Breda. Every mussel pot is freshly prepared in our kitchen. Choose a generous individual pot or order several smaller portions to taste and share all our different varieties.
Tjeerd is the owner of Smelt Breda and the mussel man behind De Mosselpan. Earlier this summer, he literally dived into the Oosterschelde in search of the very best mussels. Together with his team, he then created a selection of fantastic preparations.
Armed with plenty of enthusiasm and a treasure trove of stories, he’ll soon be ready to ‘catch’ you at his newly revamped restaurant.
The quality of a mussel pot begins with the mussels themselves. That’s why we choose beautifully plump Zeeland mussels with firm meat and a fresh, briny flavour.
Traditionally, mussels were only eaten in months containing the letter ‘r’. Nowadays, the season starts in summer—and luckily, there’s an ‘r’ in summer too. So it’s high time for a steaming pot of Zeeland mussels at De Mosselpan.
